Teen Hero Saves More Than A Dozen Horses When His Family’s Barn Burned Down

A brave teen from Oconee County, Georgia is rightfully being called a hero today after he selflessly came to the rescue of the terrified animals who became trapped in his family’s barn.

As you can see in this adorable story about a little girl and her furry cow best friend, growing up on a farm definitely makes a person more connected with the animal kingdom, but what happened in the following story was unbelievably selfless.

Shannon Martin, who owns Classic City Clydesdales with her husband, says having a barn full of beautiful horses has been their dream for years, but all that came crashing down when a lightning bolt set it ablaze in the middle of the night.

“It shook the whole house,” Martin told USA Today. “One minute I am in bed; the next minute I am standing up next to the bed trying to figure out what bomb went off.”

The scare shook the horses and the Martin family, who quickly discovered the blazing barn doors were locked and the power was out. However, that didn’t stop 16-year-old from turning into “Rambo”, rushing to save the more than one dozen Clydesdales, which included a tiny 3-week-old foal and a pregnant mare.

“I just ran right out. I had no clothes on, no shoes, no nothing,” Macon told USA Today. “I just jumped in our Gator and I just ran it right into the door.”

Although the family was unable to save the barn and company they worked so tirelessly to build, they are overjoyed that every single one of their Clydesdales survived the devastating fire.
