Police Nab Crooks Who Broke Into Convenience Store With Fowl Accomplice

In a strange story that emerged from Northhampton, Massachusettes, police apprehended two suspects who broke into a convenience store with a rather strange accomplice.

According to Boston.com, the crime happened around 3:45 a.m. Monday morning. Two men were struggling to strongarm their way into a convenience store when the call came in. When officers arrived on the scene, they were baffled by what they saw.

In addition to breaking and entering, the two suspects had a bird cage with them containing a live (and very loud) rooster. Perhaps next time they decide to commit a crime, they should remember to leave behind the fowl accomplice that will give away their whereabouts with a cry and a cluck.

Despite the confusing scenario, police have not said what the men were doing with a rooster. They arrested the suspects, but have not yet released their names. Sources say the bird was taken into custody but not charged, before being handed over to local animal services. The question of fowl play still lingers, however, and we have to wonder what the bird was doing there in the first place.
